How does my PN work?
PN goes down a ‘wiggly’ line into your upper arm or chest; for long term PN it will go into your chest, this is called a Hickman line. For your PN to move down the ‘wiggly’ line it is powered by a pump, your pump controls the amount of PN you need and the speed it goes down the ‘wiggly’ line.
Once the PN goes down your ‘wiggly’ line and into your body the food will go into your blood stream.
